Another Race this was fun, in the town of Pescasseroli, central Italy. We had a great group in this small town in the middle of a national park. About 500 runners turned out for the 13 km race. a great trail run with fast runners from Rome. The town was interesting to see.....enjoy the Fotos!!
I am happy I made the podium, 8th in my category, more wine and pasta...Yippee!!

Un'altra Race questo è stato divertente, nella città di Pescasseroli, Italia centrale. Abbiamo avuto un grande gruppo in questa piccola città nel mezzo di un parco nazionale. Circa 500 corridori si è rivelato per i 13 km di gara. una grande pista di correre con corridori veloci da Roma. La città era interessante vedere ..... godere del Fotos!
Sono felice che ho fatto il podio, 8 ° nella mia categoria, più vino e pasta ... Evviva!

I decided to explore some of the near by mountains. It was a crazy training day, about 80 km bike ride, going up and down, and up!! Then running up the canyon for about 9 miles. A local who I have met named Marco, who happens to be a very strong athlete joined me. He speaks about as much English as I speak Italian...but we managed.

Grande notizia oggi e molte nuove foto fresche. Per prima cosa ho dato la mia macchina fotografica (GoPro) per Vanessa nostro team presidenti figlia di provare e prendere le immagini della gara di Domenica a Pescara. Sono molte belle foto e mi piace la prospettiva fresca. In secondo luogo, ho fatto una bella gara e finalmente sono stato sul podio dei vincitori per il mio gruppo di età.
Il mio tempo per il corso di 11,5 km era 51:24, non particolarmente velocissimo ma abbiamo avuto una lunga salita di circa 4-5 chilometri. Danilo era ancora finendo avanti di me di 2 minuti l'ispirazione e Giorgio non era molto indietro.
Ho finito 45a di circa 200 e la quarta nella mia classe. Il vincitore assoluto è venuto in circa 40 minuti. Ho vinto un po 'di riso e pasta, si dice che il riso di alta qualità, ma meglio di tutto ho voluto fare la mia squadra orgogliosa di me
L'altro gruppo di foto sono della settimana prima, quando il nostro club ha tenuto una gara nella Nazionale della Majella Pak qui in Abruzzo. Un sacco di pianificazione, duro lavoro e lavoro di squadra si sono riuniti per un evento di grande successo a mio parere. E 'stato un percorso impegnativo e interessante per i più di 400 che è venuto fuori per il primo evento annuale.
Il mio lavoro il giorno della gara era quello di fotografare e documentare l'azione. Ho creato nei pressi di una bella cascata i corridori passavano davanti di al km 11. A quel punto necessario per negoziare una salita ripida aiutato da corde di guida. Ho avuto alcuni grandi colpi, ed è stato divertente vedere la gara da questo punto di vista, anche se.

Big news today and many fresh new Photos. First I gave my Camera (gopro) to Vanessa our team presidents daughter to try out and take pictures of the race Sunday in Pescara. They are many great pictures and I love the fresh perspective. Second, I ran a strong race and finally made it onto the winners podium for my age group.
My time for the 11.5km course was 51:24, not particularly blazing fast but we did have a long climb of about 4-5 kilometers. Danilo was again the inspiration finishing ahead of me by 2 minutes and Giorgio was not far behind.
I ended up 45th out of about 200 and fourth in my class. The overall winner came in around 40 minutes. I won some rice and pasta, they say it high grade rice but best of all I wanted to make my team proud of me.
The other group of Pictures are from the week before when our club held a race in the Majella National Pak here in Abruzzo. A lot of planning, hard work and team effort came together for a very successful event in my opinion. It was a challenging and interesting course for the more than 400 who came out for the first annual event.
My job on race day was to photograph and document the action. I set up near a beautiful waterfall the runners passed in front of at km 11. At that point they needed to negotiate a steep ascent aided by guide ropes. It was at the top where I positioned myself. I got some great shots, and it was fun to see the race from this perspective, although I was a little envious.
The weekend happened to fall during the summer Solstice and a full moon event called The SuperMoon. We spent the night in the mountains ate dinner together and had a nice time.
