Running the Mountain

Last time Patrizio , Rocco and I ran we were on the beach. Today we did about 10 miles through the mountains near Chieti. It was very green and aside from getting a killer run in, we got to see some beautiful streams and very green mountains. The best part of the day was riding in an old Fiat with Patrizio, it was the size of a lunch box, but I want one so bad!! enjoy the pictures. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` L'ultima volta Patrizio, Rocco e mi sono imbattuto eravamo sulla spiaggia. Oggi abbiamo fatto circa 10 chilometri attraverso le montagne vicino a Chieti. E 'stato molto verde e oltre a ottenere un killer rodaggio, abbiamo avuto modo di vedere alcuni flussi bellissime e montagne verdissime. La parte migliore della giornata era in sella a una vecchia Fiat con Patrizio, era delle dimensioni di una scatola di pranzo, ma voglio uno così male! godetevi le foto.

Lets Run takes their Game Faces to Cepigatti!!! Game Face???

Noi lo chiamiamo il vostro "Game Face" negli Stati Uniti, quando ti stai preparando per un concorso. Credo che questa serie di foto mostra alcuni gravi "gioco affronta" prima, durante e dopo la gara la gara in Cepigatti. Alcuni come Adele ha vinto un altro premio, più vino. 11 litro di vino presto tenerci sopra fino al prossimo evento, e se non ci sarà troppo ubriaco per correre! godere della fotos ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We call it your "Game Face " in the states, when you are getting ready for a competition. I think this series of photos shows some serious "game faces" before, during, and after the race the race in Cepigatti. Some how Adele won another prize, more wine. 11 liter of wine should hold us over till the next event, and if it does not we will be too drunk to run!! enjoy the fotos

Patricio and Rocco invited me to go with them to go for a run by the sea this morning. it was an easy casual run....I got to practice my very limited language skills. The sun was out and the temperature was perfect. There was a lot of activity on the beach, getting ready for the summer season. Workers were busy grooming the sand and setting up the umbrellas. After the brisk 14 kilometer run we went back to Patricio's house for a glass of beer and cake. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Patricio e Rocco mi ha invitato ad andare con loro per andare a correre al mare questa mattina. si trattava di una conduzione informale facile .... ho avuto modo di praticare le mie competenze linguistiche molto limitate. C'era il sole e la temperatura era perfetta. C'era un sacco di attività in spiaggia, si prepara per la stagione estiva. I lavoratori erano impegnati a governare la sabbia e creare gli ombrelloni. Dopo la vivace 14 chilometro percorso siamo tornati a casa di Patricio per un bicchiere di birra e torta.

Near Rome this past Sunday , we participated in a brutal race.  An eco half marathon in the hills / mountains of Tivoli.  First we got to run through Villa Gregoriana, an UNESCO world heritage site.  Amazing and fun to begin the race, then we went up, up, and up!  I feel good about how I did, 2 hours and 20 minutes was worth 18th place in my division.  So many talented runners here in Italy. 

Before the race 3 female runners did some dance skit to the music I love Gangam style, so much fun....inspiring too!

Vicino Roma questa Domenica scorsa, abbiamo partecipato ad una gara brutale. Una mezza maratona eco nelle colline / montagne di Tivoli. In primo luogo abbiamo avuto modo di correre attraverso Villa Gregoriana, un patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO. Sorprendente e divertente per iniziare la gara, poi siamo andati su, su, e su! Mi sento bene come ho fatto io, 2 ore e 20 minuti valeva 18 ° posto nella mia divisione. Così molti corridori di talento qui in Italia.

Prima della gara 3 corridori di sesso femminile ha fatto qualche scenetta danza alla musica che amo lo stile Gangam, tanto divertimento .... stimolante troppo!

Cerca de Roma el domingo pasado, participamos en una carrera brutal. Una media maratón de eco en las colinas / montañas de Tivoli. En primer lugar tenemos que correr a través de Villa Gregoriana, un sitio del patrimonio mundial de la UNESCO. Increíble y divertido para empezar la carrera, luego nos fuimos arriba, arriba y arriba! Me siento bien con lo que hice, a 2 horas y 20 minutos valió el 18 º lugar en mi división. Así que muchos corredores con talento aquí en Italia.

Antes de la carrera 3 corredoras hicieron alguna obra de teatro danza a la música que me gusta el estilo Gangam, muy divertido .... inspirador también!

The tour of Italy passed through our little village today!!! COOL! Giro di Italia... Tour de Italia

Today while having a light lunch  of bread and tomatoes with olive oil, and strawberry's.   Adele, she pointed out the kitchen window window and said "here they come" as she pointed to the close hillside.  I looked and saw a parade of vehicles.  I assumed it was another religious procession!!   

I was wrong....!

It was the tour of Italy cycling event passing right through our little town!!

How cool...!!

so I grabbed my camera and headed down the street!

Oggi, pur avendo un pranzo leggero di pane e pomodori con olio d'oliva, e fragola di. Adele, ha sottolineato finestra finestra della cucina e ha detto "ecco che arrivano", come lei ha sottolineato la stretta collina. Ho guardato e ho visto una parata di veicoli. Ho pensato che era un'altra processione religiosa!

Mi sbagliavo ....!

E 'stato il giro d'Italia di ciclismo che passa proprio attraverso la nostra piccola città!

Hoy en día, mientras que tener un almuerzo ligero de pan y tomate con aceite de oliva, y la fresa de. Adele, señaló la ventana ventana de la cocina y le dijo: "ahí vienen", como señaló la estrecha ladera. Miré y vi un desfile de vehículos. Supuse que era otra procesión religiosa!

Me equivoqué ....!

Fue la gira por Italia evento de ciclismo pasando justo a través de nuestra pequeña ciudad!

Ecomaratona and the Archeo trail Run in Collelongo Italy

Sunday was the mountain Eco Marathon of Collelongo and the 13k cross-country race.  Adele and I did the 13k, and some of our team did the marathon.  There seemed to be a lot of ultra-marathon runners here at this event and as a matter of fact I got to meet one of the best in Europe   Massimo Panchetti stayed with us and we drove to the race together,  very cool.

Beautiful race, nice town.  Perhaps next year we can try the marathon race.....

May day in Italy (viva los Obredores) and another road race!!

A day worth celebrating, International workers day since about 1890.  The basic beginning of the workers movement,  people fighting for better social and economic conditions. In remembrance of the murdered demonstrators, killed by police in what is know as the Haymarket Affair in Chicago.  Demonstrators were trying to get an 8 hour work day.  Well for me I think its a good day to celebrate and remember, so I decided to run a little harder today in hono of those who would make the world a better place!

The race, A flat 10k by the sea near San Salvo Italy.  I tried to keep  up with the king of our group, but Danilo's pace was a bit to strong....he left me a 4 km and finished a little over 2 minutes in front of me.  I crossed at a hair over 43:00, not too bad, still 11th in my age category(winner was 36:00) i'm happy.  But if I want to get on the podium and win massive amounts of pasta and wine ...I am gonna have to train a lot harder or get on steroids!!

The bounty from this weeks race was 8 bags of pasta, they ran out o wine so basically gave us a case of Rigatoni!!  how cool is that!!  You can see Adele carry it in the picture ....she is so strong!!

I loved how they organized the kids events at this race.  And there was an event held that I hadnt seen in a long time...Race walking.  Although it is an Olympic event I havent seen it live in 35 years.  Vanessa of our group took 3rd overall, another superstar from "Lets Run for Solidarity"
